[Infirmary Spam, pre-flood]
[Some time after Gard's unconscious, coma'd body is discovered and moved, Scorpius plants himself on the edge of the man's bed, casually running through his datapad to pass the time. There's no obvious reason to outsiders why he feels the need to watch over his warden in typical creeper fashion, but he does, and presumably will make difficult the lives of anyone attempting to get near to either without a solid reason]
[Public, post-flood]
In some ways, I feel as though a comatose warden is simply not holding up their end of the bargain. The game feels less interesting when one of the players is absent.
I wonder if Hiziki Gard thought to leave anyone in charge of my supervision in the event of his...disposal.
[Private to Horatio]
I believe I have something of yours, Horatio. If you wish to collect it, come to my cabin.
[Private to Crichton]
John. Yet another flood is happening. Be on your guard - I have yet to discover the logic of this one.

Date: 2014-04-22 11:51 pm (UTC)Scorpius, when have you ever given me reason to be anything but suspicious of you?
[Think hard. Name one time.]
Not that I'm unhappy to hear that, but I feel the need to ask why?
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-22 11:56 pm (UTC)I've won, John. From your own words, I have the wormhole technology in my grasp. All that remains now is to find a way off this Barge and back to the realm of the living.
To do this, I must graduate, and my warden has the idea that I must attempt to make amends to do it.
[Can you tell how ridiculous Scorpius finds this idea, Crichton?]
I promised to try his ideas, if he allowed me to try my own.

Date: 2014-04-23 12:06 am (UTC)[He clenches his teeth angrily. He can't argue with Scorpius' logic. For all he knows Scorpius really will have won now that he has the chip. What can he do about it? Not a damn thing.]
Your warden is probably right, so you might try sounding more sincere next time.
What ideas have you got anyway?

Date: 2014-04-23 12:11 am (UTC)A fair few, scaled to varying levels of probable success. Some are in motion even as we speak. Aeryn Sun has graciously offered her assistance for one.
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-23 05:35 pm (UTC)[He's contemplating just hanging up, and then Aeryn's name is mentioned. His voice pitches low with suspicion.]
She's helping with what?
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-23 05:39 pm (UTC)Aeryn is assisting me in manufacturing a bioweapon. Still in its early phases, of course, but she was kind enough to deliver her blood sample.
Re: [Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 01:17 am (UTC)[It's amazing how fast he can go from mostly calm to extremely red in the face.]
A bioweapon?! What the hell? Does Gard know?
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 01:33 am (UTC)If he's doing his job properly. Certainly not now, as he's slipped into a coma.
What about this revelation upsets you more, John? That I am constructing a weapon, that I am using Aeryn, or that she deigned not to inform you?
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 01:40 am (UTC)How long has he been in a coma?
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 01:43 am (UTC)[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 02:09 am (UTC)Why do you need Aeryn anyway?
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 02:14 am (UTC)The difficulty with bioweapons in our world, John, is that the risk of contamination is high, not to mention how difficult it is to capture Scarrans alive.
I am half Scarran. I am easily able to determine what will kill me, but unless I have Aeryn's cooperation, I will never know how to keep Sebaceans immune to whatever I create. Here on the Barge I have multiple, countless opportunities for trial and error.
I suppose the chance to watch me sicken and die was too opportune to pass up, even if it meant placing her own health at risk.
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 11:26 am (UTC)And her?!
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 11:29 am (UTC)[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 11:39 am (UTC)Let me ask you this: are you making an antidote?
If this works, and the Scarrans decide they would rather surrender than continue dying horribly. You going to let them have it as the price of total surrender?
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 11:43 am (UTC)You say that as if I don't plan for every contingency.
In the highly unlikely event of that happening, yes. An extra bargaining tool never goes amiss.
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 05:42 pm (UTC)[As if he has any room to judge, but that is your fault too Scorpius.]
I'm trying to see how far you're taking this mad scientist motif.
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 05:44 pm (UTC)[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 05:58 pm (UTC)[A small grin at that. Still his favorite home movie ever.]
I'll stay out of it for the time being. As long as wormholes aren't involved, I got no say.
[Heartless as he feels admitting this: he's got no love for Scarrans, and no stake in saving them. He won't risk himself for their sake, only Aeryn's. If this weapon works how Scorpius claims it will, then Scarrans are the only ones that will suffer from it directly. It's the better of two evils for now.]
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-24 06:00 pm (UTC)[Seriously, he's pleased. Look at you, all grown up.]
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-25 05:20 pm (UTC)For the record, this doesn't mean I approve of what you're trying to do.
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-25 06:03 pm (UTC)[Private]
Date: 2014-04-26 12:58 am (UTC)It would be easier for me to promise to stay out of it if Aeryn wasn't involved.
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-26 03:50 am (UTC)Aeryn is essential. There is, surprisingly, a streak of intelligence and forthright determination that I've come to appreciate in her.
[Private]
Date: 2014-04-26 03:00 pm (UTC)I know, it's one of my favorite things about her. Now, can you explain to me what you'll be doing with her exactly?
