The enormous accessibility of resources even to known prisoners on this ship continues to amaze me. I wonder if I might entreat on a warden who would be able to provide a personal databank? It's far easier than writing notes by hand.

Additionally, I would be interested to learn if anyone has bothered to map out the Barge's destinations ahead of schedule, or started to plan for each flood and port we encounter. It seems to be on a rotating cycle.

Piecemeal, at best. Some have completely mastered transportation around the universe in a blink of an eye. Others have not yet managed to travel outside their own planet.

Interstellar travel within the Federation is commonplace. Outside of it, the levels of technology vary. Much of my universe remains unexplored.

We use the term "warp speed" when going faster than light. The baseline criteria for entry to the Federation is that particular capability.

Scorpius. Only the one name.

Many different ones - some of which were capable of faster-than-light travel. My own command carrier is fitted with a Hetch drive which permits it. However, if you were to travel aboard, say, a Leviathan like the one John Crichton uses, you would instead use a method called Starburst, which is faster but can be more unpredictable.

Much, yes. I try to learn all I can in order to prepare for every eventuality. However, lately I've begun tailoring my studies to a few narrow fields of interest. Faster-than-light travel being one of them.

Wormhole technology is my primary focus at the moment. But in between I have begun to investigate the possibilities of neural interfacing and reading, as well as the behavior of Leviathans in starburst. And there are one or two species I have my eye on that are a sort of side-project.
