Log 0004

[In the time since he was released from Zero, Scorpius has been spending the majority of his days in the library. The availability of knowledge from other universes is too irresistable to ignore, and much of his time is spent cataloging facts and figures he feels may be useful to him in the coming time]

The enormous accessibility of resources even to known prisoners on this ship continues to amaze me. I wonder if I might entreat on a warden who would be able to provide a personal databank? It's far easier than writing notes by hand.

Additionally, I would be interested to learn if anyone has bothered to map out the Barge's destinations ahead of schedule, or started to plan for each flood and port we encounter. It seems to be on a rotating cycle.

And there are still concepts I come across every day whose meanings continue to elude me. I have seen...[He pauses to double-check the name he's written down] Abbott and Costello's 'Who's on First' three times and each subsequent viewing leaves me more perplexed.

John, if this data reel is any indication of your species' intelligence, I don't know whether to feel superior or afraid.

[Private to Catra]

Have you tracked Crichton's meal cycles yet?

Vulcans do not lie. I have nothing to fear.

[He understands and moreover, approves of the need for caution. This is a strange ship, not everybody is what they seem.]

I am gratified by your concern, however, my classmates have already demonstrated that to varying degrees, as have humans. It is of little consequence.

To be of two worlds is a unique position and an advantage in most circumstances.

[Not when your bff dies and you can't really deal with that level of grief, though.]

I know. But humans do. And those friends I mentioned, they can and probably do. Scorpius can tell. So it's worth knowing about.

I understand. Thank you.

You are welcome to call on me for assistance if required. I suspect I am physically more capable.

What would you define as an ability?

[Physically more capable?! Okay, just this once, he's gonna let that go. Because he likes you Spock.]

If he starts getting uppity, I might just do that.

Depends on where you go. We're diverse.

Most are touch-telepaths. [Everyone knows, and he wouldn't bother hiding it anyway.] We are also stronger, faster, and more durable than humans.

[What, you don't want to see Scorpius getting nerve-pinched? Come on, Crichton.]

Additionally, if you are willing, I would be interested in these living ships. We have not encountered anything like it.

They are telepaths?

You almost sound disappointed. I bet you're just so anxious to start seeing us whacky humans all over your corner of space, aren't you? Can't get enough Who, What and I Don't Know.

In themselves or inducing it in other species?

[That's one of the reasons why he likes you Spock. Also, he'll make you a freaking friendship bracelet if you do the nerve pinch on Scorpius for him to see. He'll make it by hand!]

Sure. I can tell you what I know.

In person, if you do not mind?

Yet they experimented on you.

[Whether the Scarrans considered him one of them is irrelevant to Spock: the fact remains that Scorpius belongs to both worlds.]

What is the nature and status of their conflict with the Sebaceans?
